Surah Al-Baqarah (2:219)
“They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, ‘In them is great sin and [some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit.’”
This verse makes it obviously clear that although alcohol might have some worldly use, the harm outweighs the benefit.
Sayings of Holy Prophet (PBUH):
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ gave clear warnings about alcohol:
“Whatever intoxicates in large amounts, a small amount of it is also haram.”

“Alcohol is the mother of all evils.”
(Ibn Majah, 3371)
“Allah has cursed alcohol, the one who drinks it, the one who serves it, the one who sells it, the one who buys it, the one who makes it, the one for whom it is made, the one who carries it, and the one to whom it is carried.”
